Methodology

What the score means — and what it doesn't.

The Digital Product Opportunity Index compares ideas against the evidence Niche Hint found. It is a decision aid, never a prediction of income.

The scorecard

Seven signals, weighted honestly.

Strong evidence matters more than novelty. Free alternatives and poor format fit pull an idea down.

01High

Demand strength

How often and how consistently the problem appears across independent public discussions.

02High

Urgency

Whether people are trying to solve it right now, under time pressure, versus idle curiosity.

03High

Free-alternative risk

How completely free content already answers the question. Strong free coverage lowers the score.

04Medium

PDF fit

Whether a static, structured document is genuinely the right format for this problem.

05Medium

Monetization ease

How willing this audience typically is to pay, and how easily the product can be described and priced.

06Medium

Scalability

Whether the product can serve many people without heavy personalization.

07Low

Trend velocity

Whether interest appears to be growing, steady or fading.

Confidence follows evidence.

Every opportunity carries a confidence level based on independent supporting signals. Thin evidence stays visibly low-confidence.

Limits stay visible.

  • Public conversations are a sample, not a census.
  • A high score never guarantees sales or income.
  • Execution, pricing and marketing remain your decisions.
  • AI analysis can be wrong; evidence is provided for review.
